Ayurvedic medicine is the oldest medicine to have existed.
Ayurveda recognises 6 tastes: sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, and astringent.

Meals that incorporate all 6 flavours not only stimulate the digestion properly but support us nutritionally.  It can also help reduce cravings or the over-indulgence of certain foods.

The following recipe has 4 ingredients that stimulate all of the 6 ayurvedic tastes.  You can make up a small jam jar of the recipe and take a spoonful before a meal, or you could add some to your meals.

Grated ginger (1/4 inch) 
Lemon juice ( to taste)
Himalayan or sea salt (not table salt)
Brown sugar/ dark molasses  or honey 

This should last 4 - 5 days in the fridge.
