Fertility awareness is a highly effective, natural method of contraception. Learning this method teaches you to identifying your most fertile time of your cycle. This is of great importance in both trying to prevent pregnancy and also in trying to conceive.
I am an NFPTA registered teacher of the sympto-thermal, fertility awareness method. It is an absolute pleasure sharing this teaching with women who want to move away from hormonal birth control and increase their body literacy.
What is the fertility awareness method?
The fertility awareness method is a scientific way of determining where your most fertile window of days lies within your cycle.
The method of fertility awareness I am registered to teach is called the sympto-thermal method. By recording daily basal body temperatures and observing physical symptoms, it clearly identifies when a woman ovulates.
It not only provides a tool for showing you where your fertile window lies, but it it teaches you to be more body-literate and understand your own reproductive system better.
How effective is it?
As a contraception, if it has been taught by a qualified specialist and adhered to correctly, it is 99.6% effective at preventing pregnancy. That`s as effective as the birth control pill, without the nasty side effects. Natural contraception enables you to navigate your reproductive years without you or your partner having to undergo invasive surgery or take hormonal contraception, which many women have been badly affected by.
How can this help me?
The learning journey of fertility awareness is an absolutely fascinating one. Couples that have learned this method with me have found it enlightening and thoroughly enjoyable.
The information that you learn can help you in three ways;
If you are planning to conceive, you will be able to see where the window of opportunity lies to maximise your fertility. You will also be able to see how healthy your cycles are, as we delve into examining your follicular and luteal phase.
If you are avoiding pregnancy, you will know which days you should avoid or use other methods of barrier protection for.
Or, you may simply wish to understand more about your cycle for either medical reasons or curiosity.
Whatever the reason, the charts that you will record will offer you a valuable insight into translating what is happening in your reproductive cycles.
They will illuminate certain problems that may be contributing to fertility issues, menstrual pain, or mood disturbances which you can then address with your doctor, or natural health practitioner.
Under my guidance you will learn how to interpret your body and pass this amazing information on, down your family line.
